theory test

The
theory test consists of two parts; the multiple
choice part and the hazard perception part. You will
be required to pass both of these parts to pass the
theory test. You must pass your theory test before
applying to take your practical test.
Both parts of the theory test are recorded through a
touch screen computer with the hazard perception
part recorded through the use of the computer mouse
button.
The Multiple Choice Part
The multiple choice part of the theory test consists
of 50 questions and each question will have several
answers from which you have to choice the correct
answer, the test will have a time limit in which you
have to answer the questions of around 57 minutes
and you have to obtain a score of at least 43 out of
50 for you to pass. After the multiple choice part
has finished you can have a short break before the
Hazard Perception part begins.
The Hazard Perception Part
The hazard perception part consists of 14 video
clips or everyday road scenes. In each clip there
will a developing hazard in which you need to
respond to, one of the clips will have two. To
achieve a high score you will need to respond as
early as you can to the developing hazard by
clicking on the mouse button as soon as you see it
developing, you will be marked out of a maximum of 5
on each hazard. To pass the hazard perception part
you will need to achieve a score of 44 out of 75.
You will need to pass both parts of theory test to
pass, failing either the theory or the hazard will
result in a fail.
Remember to take your driving licence with you to
the test centre, if you have an old style drivers
licence you will need to also take a valid passport. |
